From Peter’s Desk: The Greater Good

The twists continue in the political landscape. The assassination attempt on the Republican nominee has been followed by the incumbent, and presumptive Democratic nominee, opting to end his reelection bid just 100 days before voters go to the polls. I was asked this week how the presence of a different major party candidate would affect my presidential campaign. My answer was quick and succinct: Not at all!

The distinction I enjoy in vying for the presidency as a Third-Party candidate is that I am not running a campaign predicated on defeating another party or nominee; I’m running for the values and ideals of the American Solidarity Party. My strategy and efforts are not directed to attacking others or exploiting other candidates’ perceived weaknesses. I think about how to distinguish ASP positions.

And… I think about how to make the party an easy option for voters in November!

Lauren and I have spent much time completing and signing forms required by various states. It’s understandably part of the process to preserve election integrity. What’s difficult to accept are the steep requirements imposed by several state houses that seek to prevent competition.

This weekend, the American Solidarity Party is making a final appeal to voters in Pennsylvania to sign a petition that will enable the respective presidential tickets to be listed ballot options for voters in the Keystone State. If you live in Pennsylvania, or know someone who does, check or social media feeds for information about locations to sign or volunteer.

This November, the ASP invites you to vote for the greater good, rather than the lesser evil!
