From Peter’s Desk: The Banner of Civility and Human Dignity

Earlier this week I received an email message from a man questioning my candidacy. He’d been introduced to it by his wife, who was supportive, but he had obvious misgivings. He questioned my ambitions and objectives as what he termed a “spoiler” in so pivotal an election, in so crucial a time in our nation.

Was I seeking to “gain attention without a real plan to help our country”?

“It’s not clear,” he continued, “how your candidacy contributes to the critical issues we face.”

“Wow,” I thought, “I’ve got to check my ego! … and reread our platform.”

I have received other notes or social media comments suggesting that the ASP ‘can’t win’ and therefore is irrelevant or improperly focused. This is a particularly poignant consideration given RFK Jr.’s recent withdrawal from the race so he wouldn’t be a spoiler candidate. I have received still more such notes thanking me for taking up the banner of civility and human dignity, and for giving them new enthusiasm with an opportunity to vote for the greater good rather than the lesser evil.

We received word this week that Alaska and Florida will include the ASP presidential ticket on the printed ballot, giving voters the opportunity to vote for Lauren and me on their state ballots. Other states with such ballot access so far include Arkansas, Louisiana, Ohio, and Hawaii. We are hopefully not at the end of the list, but your prayers are needed to increase it!

Certified write-in access has been achieved in many states but help is needed in California. If you can volunteer as an elector in California please contact our state coordinator today!

Thank you for your continuing support – financially, as well as through prayer and sharing our campaign information with others.
